Angel Painting Abstract Large

I have a show coming up. I am painting some angels inspired by a series I painting
on fabric for my Church last Christmas. Of course, angels are everywhere in the Bible,
and not  just associated with Christmas. Good News. This one is
16" x 20" and is on the devinepaintings.etsy.com site

Alamo Oil Painting

Sweet little painting of The Alamo, in San Antonio, Texas. Painted from a
photo I took while taking a tour of the beautiful old mission.

Quick side story:  Took our daughters to beautiful San Antonio, and thought they would love the
water park attraction there. They were ok with it, but we went to the Alamo late afternoon
on a rainy Saturday-it was the most beautiful experience. They loved the Alamo and
could care less about going back to the water park!!!

Size is 4" x 5" and 3/4 inch sides are painted a light gray. You can hang this
or set it on a shelf.

Frida Kahlo Portrait by M.Devine

When I taught high school art, next to my students, I loved teaching about famous painters. One of my favorites was and is Frida Kahlo because she had such a colorful, happy, sad and interesting life, which she was able to translate to her art-sometimes in ways that made me sad, sometimes in ways that were very joyous. So here is a little new painting of her, acrylic on canvas. You can find my portraits at

Marsh Waterway

Okay, so growing up in Louisiana, they called these weekend retreats CAMPS, and in Texas, they are known as LAKEHOUSES, in the Carolinas, they are in the LOW COUNTRY, or COASTAL areas. As a child in Louisiana, I used to love to go visit Mississippi, near Pass Christian, and they really did look just like this! Wherever they are, you know it is going to be a good day when you look out the window and see WATER!

Low Country Marsh Oil Painting

This oil painting is called Low Country Marsh. I worked from
two photos to paint this, and wanted to use lots of greens and
yellow ochre. Just a hint of blue in the water and the sky, very
painterly. Painted on artist wood panel, 1" wood sides.

After the Storm Oil Painting

Okay, so you know that old saying, "After the Storm" -well that had to be the perfect name for this painting. I went with my family to the beach this spring, and it rained the entire drive. After two days of POURING RAIN, we went outside and it was just the most spectacular contrast of colors. Really dark outlines against an almost neutral sky. I knew I had to paint it, so I did one to keep to remember that beautiful day, then I did a couple of small ones, and now we have a Medium size oil painting that gives an IMPRESSION of that day. This has TONS OF THICK IMPASTO oil paint, and LOTS of BRUSHWORK!
Hope you love this.  To Purchase, go to www.recycledwoodart.etsy.com
