Mermaids Painting on Canvas large

This painting is on a 16" x 20" canvas, sides are painted a neutral

light blue. Kind of a watery feel, I used to paint a ton of mermaids on wood

for my recycledwoodart.etsy.com site I share with my sister. We are trying out

some new designs that are not so large. No fun to have life size wood mermaids

break in transit, but it happens.  So I called this one Mermaid Dance.

Miss the gesture, figure drawing that I used to do a lot. I didn't really learn how to paint faces

until I was teaching high school and my mentor, Mr Dodt, showed me how. He can paint a perfect

portrait in about a minute. Most people cannot do that, it is awesome.

but never got around to it. Finally did and added some whimsy to her standing pose, plus a doggie

and a sign saying Mi Amor. Very muted except for dress and roses.
