Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, Our Lady of Guadalupe

When Juan Diego had a vision on a hill in Mexico, he asked for a sign to prove it. When he came back to the mountain, it was covered in Castillian roses, in winter, roses which do not normally grow in the Tepeyac desert, near Mexico City. The lady in the vision asked him to build a church where they stood on the hill. So this little painting is also covered in roses and is a whimsical version of the Virgin of Guadalupe. It is painted on gallery wrapped canvas and the sides have been painted black. I usually sell these larger and without so much detail, this is a new design and I hope you like it. There is a cross under the banner which reads, "Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe" in Spanish, which means Our Lady of Guadalupe. There are so many interesting things about Our Lady of Guadalupe, just Google her name and you will see.
